Safari from Star Legend: a spring and autumn day in Kuşadası

None of Star Legend's Kuşadası calls fall in high summer. The port schedule as of early October 2026 lists 11 calls for the Windstar Cruises ship over the next 12 months. Three are in October 2026, four in April and early May 2027 and four in September 2027, with nothing in June, July or August. Every one of them ends the same way: she sails at 23:00.

That late departure means both of our safari sessions fit every listed call. What changes from date to date is when she arrives, at 08:00, 09:00 or 10:00. That decides whether the morning ride is easy or a bit of a dash. The latest times for each date are on the Star Legend schedule page.

Star Legend entered service in 1992 and, since her lengthening in 2021, carries about 312 passengers.

Arrival time decides the morning

All three arrival times are earlier than our 10:10 meeting time for the 11:00 tour, so the morning session fits on paper every time. In practice, the gap feels very different.

08:00 arrivals – Thursday 22 October 2026, Tuesday 20 April, Thursday 6 May and Sunday 19 September 2027. You have more than two hours before the meeting, and the 11:00 tour is the relaxed choice.

09:00 arrivals – Friday 16 October 2026, Wednesday 14 April, Friday 30 April and Monday 13 September 2027. Just over an hour before the meeting, which is still enough to get ashore and walk the short distance to us.

10:00 arrivals – Wednesday 1 September and Saturday 25 September 2027. The ship is in port only 10 minutes before the 10:10 meeting time. That passes the rule, but it leaves almost no slack for getting off the ship. On these two days we would suggest the 16:00 session instead. If you have your heart set on the morning, message us on WhatsApp first and we will talk it through.

Walking through a late-afternoon ride

Since the 16:00 session works on every date and is the natural pick on the 10:00 days, here is how it runs.

• Spend the morning and early afternoon however you like. Star Legend is in port until late, so there is no reason to rush.
• 15:10 – meet us at the Kervansaray meeting point (The Big Ottoman Palace), about 50 m from the cruise port exit. Map.
• A drive of about 15 minutes takes you to the forest trails behind Pamucak beach.
• 16:00 – about 2 hours of riding through the pines, with a 30-minute break on Pamucak beach.
• 18:45–19:15 – back at the port.
• 23:00 – Star Legend sails.

That leaves between 3 hours 45 minutes and 4 hours 15 minutes after the ride, well clear of our rule that you must be back at least 60 minutes before departure. As always, check the all-aboard time in your daily programme. It is usually earlier than the departure time, but on a 23:00 evening it would have to be unusually early to matter.

If you take the 11:00 tour instead, you are back between 13:45 and 14:15, which leaves the whole afternoon and evening free.

Which safari suits you

The buggy safari and the quad safari need no driving licence. Drivers must be 16 or over, and both come as single or double vehicles. You get a helmet, goggles and a safety briefing, then follow the guide in convoy. Children younger than about 2 cannot come along. For riders aged 8 and up, including complete beginners, the horse safari goes out as a small group with a riding guide. Children need an experienced companion, and helmets are provided. Sea swimming at the beach break on the horse tour depends on the season.

Getting it booked

In the cruise day planner, select Star Legend and your date. It will show both sessions as possible and fill in the form for you. On a 10:00 arrival day, pick 16:00. If you already know your choice, the reservation page takes you straight there.
