Viking Mira in Kuşadası: an all-winter schedule and what it means

Viking Mira's Kuşadası calendar is easy to read, even if it is not the answer most riders hope for. The port schedule as of early October 2026 lists nine Kuşadası calls for her over the next 12 months, and every one of them falls between December and March. Our quad, buggy and horse safaris are closed from 1 December to 31 March, so there is no safari on any of her current calls.
So this is not a post about which session fits. It explains why a winter Mira call rules a safari out, and what would have to change. The dates themselves, and their hours once known, are on the Viking Mira page.
Viking Mira is a very new ship: she entered service in 2026 and carries about 998 guests in 499 staterooms, according to Viking.
Nine calls, three winter months
The calendar runs in three short groups. In December 2026 there are two calls, on Monday 7 and Friday 11 December. January 2027 has four, six days apart: Monday 4, Sunday 10, Saturday 16 and Friday 22 January. Then, after a gap through February, three more come on Monday 1, Sunday 7 and Saturday 13 March 2027.
That last one is the closest she gets to our season, but 13 March is still in the winter closure. The port times have not been announced yet for any of the nine calls, and when they are, the answer stays the same.
Why we do not list these as safari days
The safaris are closed from 1 December to 31 March and run again from April. That is a fixed winter closure, not a question of the clock, so no Mira date on the current schedule is a safari day, even after her hours appear. Please do not reserve through the planner on the strength of a time that seems to fit.
On a December, January or March call, plan your day around the town and the harbour instead. If you are travelling in a group with children or first-time riders, the details below are still worth keeping for a later trip in season.
What a ride needs from the ship's hours
It helps to know how the clock works in season, in case she is ever given a call from April onwards. We start rides at 11:00 and 16:00, and you must be back at the port at least 60 minutes before departure. For the morning ride, the ship has to be in by 10:10 and leave at 15:15 or later. For the afternoon ride, she has to be in by 15:10 and leave at 20:15 or later. If the all-aboard time is earlier than the departure, work from that instead.
The day as it runs in the season
For a sense of what a season day looks like, this is a normal morning ride:
- 10:10: meet us at the Kervansaray meeting point (The Big Ottoman Palace), about 50 m from the cruise port exit (see the map).
- About 15 minutes by road to the pine forest behind Pamucak beach.
- 11:00: around two hours on the trails, including a 30-minute break on Pamucak beach.
- Between 13:45 and 14:15: back at the port.
The afternoon ride is the same day shifted: 15:10 at Kervansaray, 16:00 start, back between 18:45 and 19:15.
Horse or engine
The horse safari is made for beginners aged 8 and over, with younger children riding beside an experienced companion, in a small group led by a riding guide; on that tour, a swim at the beach depends on the season. The quad safari and buggy safari need no licence. Drivers must be at least 16, you can take a single or a double vehicle, and everyone gets a helmet, goggles and a safety briefing before riding in convoy behind a guide. Children under about 2 cannot come on these.
If Mira's calendar changes
Schedules move. If new Viking Mira calls are added outside the winter window, they will appear on the full list of Viking Mira calls, and the cruise day planner will show which session suits each one as soon as times are known. If a later trip keeps you in Kuşadası for a few nights between April and November, those days are not tied to the ship at all, and we can pick you up from your hotel.
