Viking Neptune in Kuşadası: planning a safari before times are out

With Viking Neptune, we cannot tell you yet which safari fits your day. That is not because the answer is bad. The port schedule as of early October 2026 lists 13 Kuşadası calls for her over the next 12 months, and for every single one the port times have not been announced yet. No arrival time, no departure time.

We are not going to fill that gap with a guess. What we can do is show you exactly how to work it out yourself, so that the moment the times appear you will know which tour works. When they are published, they will show up on the Viking Neptune page next to each date, together with the safari that fits.

For context: Viking Neptune is a Viking ship, launched in 2022, with room for 930 guests according to Viking.

A schedule that runs through the winter

Her calls are spread more widely across the year than most ships we cover. The first is on Thursday 22 October 2026. December 2026 then has four: Sunday 13, Saturday 19, Friday 25 and Thursday 31 December. Two more follow in January 2027, on Sundays 24 and 31 January. After that the calls pick up again with Tuesday 18 and Monday 24 May, Wednesday 28 July, Tuesday 3 August, and finally Wednesday 22 and Tuesday 28 September 2027.

One thing to know about the winter dates: our safaris are closed from 1 December to 31 March. If your Viking Neptune call falls in December or January, it is the winter closure and there is no safari that day, whatever port times are announced later. The checks below apply to her October, May, July, August and September calls; safaris run again from April.

The weekdays are all over the place too, so there is no "usual" Viking Neptune day to plan around. Each date needs to be checked on its own.

The two checks to make once times appear

Our tours run at two fixed times, 11:00 and 16:00, and the rest follows from one rule: you must be back at the port at least 60 minutes before the ship departs.

Check 1 – the 11:00 tour. It fits if Viking Neptune is in port by 10:10 and leaves at 15:15 or later.

Check 2 – the 16:00 tour. It fits if she is in port by 15:10 and leaves at 20:15 or later.

If a call passes both checks, you can choose either session. If it passes one, that is your tour. If it passes neither, a safari will not work that day, and we would rather tell you so than squeeze you in.

One more thing to look at is the all-aboard time printed in your daily programme. It is usually earlier than the departure time. If it would leave you with less than an hour after the tour gets back, treat that as the limit. If the times look borderline, or a call looks like an overnight stay, message us on WhatsApp and we will go through it with you.

What our side of the day looks like

The ship's hours are unknown, but ours are fixed, so you can already see where a ride would sit.

Morning session

  • 10:10 – meet us at the Kervansaray meeting point (The Big Ottoman Palace), about 50 m from the cruise port exit. Map pin here.
  • About 15 minutes' drive to the trails behind Pamucak beach.
  • 11:00 – roughly 2 hours on pine-forest tracks, including a 30-minute break at Pamucak beach.
  • 13:45–14:15 – back at the port.

Afternoon session

  • 15:10 – same meeting point.
  • 16:00 – the same route and the same beach break.
  • 18:45–19:15 – back at the port.

Hold those blocks up against your ship's hours when they come out and the answer is usually obvious.

Buggy, quad or horse

The buggy safari and the quad safari both need no driving licence, drivers must be 16 or older, and you can choose a single or double vehicle. Both include a helmet, goggles and a safety briefing, and the group rides in convoy behind a guide. Children younger than about 2 cannot join. The horse safari suits beginners from age 8, with younger children riding alongside an experienced adult companion, in a small group with a riding guide. On that tour, swimming at the beach depends on the season.

When you are ready to book

Please wait until the times for your date are published. Then open the cruise day planner, choose Viking Neptune and your date, and it will tell you which tour fits and fill in the form for you. Until then it will simply show that the times are not announced. You can also use the reservation page directly once you know which session works.

If you are staying in Kuşadası overnight before or after your cruise, the ship's hours do not matter for that day. You can book any date from April to November, and we pick you up from your hotel.

Keep an eye on the full list of Viking Neptune calls. It updates as times are confirmed, and it is the quickest way to see if your date now has an answer.
