Viking Saturn in Kuşadası: what a morning or afternoon ride needs
For Viking Saturn, November is the month that matters. The port schedule as of early October 2026 lists nine Kuşadası calls for her over the next 12 months. Four of them come in November 2026, on Thursday 12, Wednesday 18, Tuesday 24 and Monday 30 November, while our trails are still open. The other five fall in January, February and early March 2027.
Her port times have not been announced yet, for any of the nine. So rather than guess, this post sets out what her hours would need to look like for each of our two rides, so you can tell at a glance when they appear on the Viking Saturn page or in your Viking documents.
Viking Saturn entered service in 2023 and carries about 930 guests in 465 staterooms, according to Viking.
What the 11:00 ride asks of her
The morning ride needs Viking Saturn alongside by 10:10 and not sailing before 15:15. Here is why those two numbers, walked through the day:
- 10:10: we meet you at the Kervansaray meeting point (The Big Ottoman Palace), about 50 m from the cruise port exit. Open the map.
- A drive of roughly 15 minutes to the forest behind Pamucak beach.
- 11:00: the ride itself, around two hours on pine-forest trails with a 30-minute break on Pamucak beach.
- 13:45 to 14:15: back at the port.
The last return is 14:15, and we keep a full 60 minutes between that and departure. Hence 15:15. A departure even a quarter of an hour earlier would cut that hour short, and we would not take you.
What the 16:00 ride asks of her
The afternoon ride shifts everything by five hours. You meet us at Kervansaray at 15:10, ride from 16:00, and are back at the port between 18:45 and 19:15. For this to work she must be in port by 15:10 and leave at 20:15 or later.
If her November hours turn out to allow both rides, the choice is yours: the morning leaves the afternoon free in town, the afternoon gives you a slower start. If they allow only one, that is the one we will offer. If they allow neither, a safari will not fit that day and we will say so.
One more figure to look for: the all-aboard time in Viking's daily programme. It is usually earlier than the departure, and if it is, use it in place of the departure time when you count back the 60 minutes.
The five calls in the winter closure
The remaining dates are Friday 8 and Tuesday 12 January, Saturday 20 and Saturday 27 February, and Tuesday 9 March 2027. All five fall in our winter closure: the safaris are closed from 1 December to 31 March, so there is no safari on any of those days, however her hours fall. Safaris run again from April.
Buggy, quad or horse for a November ride
The buggy safari and quad safari need no driving licence. Drivers are 16 or older, you can choose a single or double vehicle, and helmets, goggles and a safety briefing are included before the group sets off in convoy behind a guide. Children younger than about 2 cannot join. The horse safari suits beginners from age 8, with younger children riding alongside an experienced companion, in a small group with a riding guide. On that tour, a swim at the beach depends on the season.
Checking your November date
When the times for your call are published, open the cruise day planner, choose Viking Saturn and your date, and it will show which ride fits and prepare the booking for you. If anything looks borderline, or the ship seems to stay overnight, send us a WhatsApp message. Spending a night in Kuşadası before or after the cruise? On that day the ship's hours do not apply, and from April to November we can collect you from your hotel.
